About the Instagram Grid Splitter

A profile grid takeover is the oldest showpiece on Instagram, and the only fiddly part was always the arithmetic: which tile goes where, and in what order do you post so the picture assembles itself. This splitter does that arithmetic perfectly: centred square crops for 3, 6 or 9 posts, every tile numbered by posting order, bundled in one ZIP.

The preview shows the split before you commit, including how your subject falls across the seams, because a grid lives or dies on that composition. Tiles export at the original's full resolution, untouched apart from the crop, and the whole job happens in your browser, so unreleased campaign artwork never leaves your machine.

Complete the set with the other social image tools here: the collage maker for single-post grids, and the before and after maker for transformation reveals that pair well with a takeover launch.

Instagram Grid Splitter FAQs

A grid (or puzzle) post spreads one large image across several posts so your profile page shows the whole picture in its three-column layout. Each post is one square tile of the original. Because Instagram shows your newest post first, the tiles must be uploaded in reverse: the bottom-right tile goes up first and the top-left tile last. This splitter names every file with its posting order, 01 first, so you just post them in number order.
