BUSINESS DOCUMENT GUIDE
Create a professional invoice
A final invoice documents a completed sale or billable service. Before work starts, you can send a price estimate with the quotation generator or a proforma invoice for advance payments. Include an invoice number, seller and buyer identity, issue and due dates, currency, itemized quantities and rates, tax, discounts, shipping and payment instructions. Check the totals and local tax requirements before sending; for VAT or GST documents, use the GST VAT Invoice Generator. Save the PDF for your business records and send it to the client through your usual channel. After the client pays, issue a receipt with the receipt generator.

Frequently asked questions
How do I save my invoice as a PDF?
Click Download PDF to save the invoice as a PDF file. You can also use Print for the clean A4 print layout without website menus or form fields.
Does the tool calculate tax automatically?
Yes. Each item row has its own tax percentage, and the tool adds up the subtotal, total tax across all items and the grand total as you type.
What must an invoice include to look professional?
A professional invoice needs your business name and contact details, the client name, a unique invoice number, issue and due dates, an itemized list, tax and the total due - the "Create a professional invoice" guide section above has the full checklist.
Can taxed and tax-exempt items appear on the same invoice?
Yes. Every row has its own tax percent field, so taxed and exempt items sit together and the summary totals each rate correctly in one combined tax figure.
Is my invoice data uploaded to a server?
No. The generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so client details and prices stay on your own device.
Are invoices created here valid for tax purposes?
The generator produces a standard invoice layout, but tax rules differ by country. Check your local requirements before sending. For GST or VAT documents with a full tax summary, use the GST VAT Invoice Generator.
Are my saved drafts and clients stored online?
No. Saved drafts and client profiles are kept in your own browser. Clearing your browser data will remove them, so download a PDF of important invoices.
What is the difference between an invoice, a proforma invoice, and a quotation?
A quotation offers a price before work starts. A proforma invoice is a preliminary bill used for advance payment, customs or approvals. A final invoice requests payment for completed work or delivered goods.
