Ping Tool

Measure real network latency to any hostHow long does it take to reach a server? That simple question decides whether a site feels instant or sluggish. This tool answers it with real measurements: timed DNS resolution, TCP handshake, and HTTPS request, each reported separately.

How to use the Ping Tool

01

Enter host

Enter a hostname or URL to test.

02

Run the test

Click "Ping" to measure DNS, TCP and HTTP latency.

03

Read the timings

Compare the three timings to see where the delay is.

About the Ping Tool

Ping asks the simplest network question: how long does it take to reach this host and get an answer? Since serverless platforms cannot send ICMP packets, this tool measures timed DNS resolution, a timed TCP handshake, and a timed HTTPS request instead. The three-phase breakdown shows where latency lives: slow DNS points at the resolver, slow TCP at the network path, and slow HTTP with fast TCP at the server or TLS.

Where it helps most

Everyday troubleshooting.

Comparing hosts

Site owners compare timings before and after moving hosts or adding a CDN to confirm the improvement is real.

Debugging slow APIs

Developers check whether the delay sits in name resolution, the connection, or the application layer.

Gamer sanity checks

Gamers and streamers check latency to a game or streaming host before blaming their own connection.

CDN verification

Confirm a CDN actually moved users closer by measuring latency before and after the switch.

Reading the phases

Three numbers, three stories.

DNS phase

A slow DNS phase points at the resolver, not the server, so you fix the right layer.

TCP phase

A slow TCP phase points at the network path between the checker and the host.

HTTP phase

Slow HTTP with fast TCP points at the server itself or the TLS handshake overhead.

Ping Tool: built for trust

Real timed measurements with timeouts and SSRF protection. Nothing you enter is stored.

No. True ICMP packets cannot be sent from serverless cloud functions, so this tool measures the next best thing: DNS resolution time, TCP connection time and a full HTTPS request time. The numbers reflect real network latency to the host.
